Ingredients:
- 24 mini pretzels (round or square)
- 24 Rolo candies, unwrapped
- 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vegetable shortening (or coconut oil, optional)
- Sprinkles, sea salt flakes, or chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 200°F (93°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange the pretzels in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Place one unwrapped Rolo candy on top of each pretzel.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the Rolos are softened but not melted. Check frequently to avoid burning.
- Remove from the oven and immediately gently press a chocolate chip into the top of each softened Rolo.
- If desired, melt remaining chocolate chips with shortening/coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Drizzle over the tops.
- Sprinkle with sea salt flakes, sprinkles, or chopped nuts, if desired.
- Let the rolo pretzel bites cool completely at room temperature, or chill in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes to speed up the setting process.
