Ingredients:

  • 24 mini pretzels (round or square)
  • 24 Rolo candies, unwrapped
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable shortening (or coconut oil, optional)
  • Sprinkles, sea salt flakes, or chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 200°F (93°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Arrange the pretzels in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Place one unwrapped Rolo candy on top of each pretzel.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the Rolos are softened but not melted. Check frequently to avoid burning.
  5. Remove from the oven and immediately gently press a chocolate chip into the top of each softened Rolo.
  6. If desired, melt remaining chocolate chips with shortening/coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Drizzle over the tops.
  7. Sprinkle with sea salt flakes, sprinkles, or chopped nuts, if desired.
  8. Let the rolo pretzel bites cool completely at room temperature, or chill in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes to speed up the setting process.
