Ingredients:

  • 2 slices (approx. 60g) whole grain or sourdough bread
  • 2 tbsp (32g) creamy peanut butter
  • 1 medium (120g) ripe banana, sliced into 1/4-inch rounds
  • 1 tbsp (14g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tsp (5ml) honey or maple syrup
  • ¼ tsp (0.5g) ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Spread 1 tablespoon of peanut butter evenly across one side of each bread slice. If using cinnamon or honey, drizzle or sprinkle them directly onto the peanut butter layer to ensure they are locked into the filling.
  2. Arrange banana slices in a single, overlapping layer on one slice of bread. Press the slices down gently with your palm to set them into the peanut butter, then top with the second slice of bread, peanut butter side down.
  3. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Once the butter foams, place the sandwich in the pan.
  4. Grill for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing down lightly with a spatula, until the bread is mahogany-colored and the bananas inside feel soft and molten.
