Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs (900g) Frozen or Fresh Crab Legs (Snow, King, or Dungeness)
  • ½ cup (113g) Unsalted Butter, cut into cubes
  • 6 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • ½ teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon Cayenne Pepper (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • Salt and freshly ground Black Pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. If frozen, thaw crab legs according to package directions. Pat dry with paper towels.
  2. Steam or boil crab legs until heated through. Steaming: Place crab legs in a steamer basket and steam for 5-8 minutes if precooked or longer if raw. Boiling: Boil crab legs in salted water for about 5 minutes if precooked or longer if raw.
  3. Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir in garlic, red pepper flakes, smoked paprika, oregano, and cayenne pepper (if using). Cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant. Remove from heat and stir in parsley and lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Remove crab legs from the pot or steamer and place them on a platter. Pour the spicy garlic butter sauce over the crab legs, making sure to get into all the nooks and crannies. Alternatively, serve the sauce on the side for dipping. Serve immediately.
