Ingredients:

  • 1 box (3 oz / 85g) Strawberry Jell-O (or other strawberry-flavored gelatin dessert)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) Boiling Water
  • ½ cup (120 ml) Cold Water
  • ½ cup (120 ml) White Rum (can use flavored rum for extra punch!)
  • Fresh strawberries, sliced (Optional)
  • Whipped cream (Optional)
  • Lime wedges (Optional)

Instructions:

  1. Bring water to a rolling boil in a saucepan.
  2. Remove from heat. Add the strawberry Jell-O powder to the boiling water and whisk until completely dissolved (about 2 minutes). Make sure no granules are left!
  3. Stir in the cold water and rum. Mix well.
  4. Carefully pour the Jell-O mixture into individual cups or shot glasses, filling each nearly to the top.
  5. Cover the cups loosely with cling film (optional) and refrigerate for at least 3-4 hours, or preferably overnight, until fully set. They should be firm and jiggly.
  6. Garnish with sliced strawberries, whipped cream, and a lime wedge (optional) before serving. Jello shots time!
  7. Make sure to wash the saucepan.
