Ingredients:
- 2 lbs chicken wings, split into flats and drums
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 cup avocado oil
- 2 tbsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions:
- Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, whisk together the cornstarch, flour, salt, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
- Toss the wings in the flour mixture until every crevice is coated.
- Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the exterior is deep mahogany and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- While the wings rest for 2 minutes, heat the avocado oil in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Whisk in the cayenne, brown sugar, paprika, and salt.
- Once the oil begins to shimmer and smells nutty, remove from heat and immediately toss the hot wings in the spice oil until evenly glazed.
