Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs chicken wings, split into flats and drums
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 cup avocado oil
  • 2 tbsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions:

  1. Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, whisk together the cornstarch, flour, salt, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  2. Toss the wings in the flour mixture until every crevice is coated.
  3. Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the exterior is deep mahogany and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  4. While the wings rest for 2 minutes, heat the avocado oil in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Whisk in the cayenne, brown sugar, paprika, and salt.
  5. Once the oil begins to shimmer and smells nutty, remove from heat and immediately toss the hot wings in the spice oil until evenly glazed.
