Ingredients:

  • 4 oz (115g) Black Forest Ham, finely diced
  • 4 oz (115g) Gruyère cheese, finely grated
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh chives
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 package (14.1 oz/400g) frozen puff pastry, thawed (but still cold)
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Optional: Everything Bagel Seasoning or flaky sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line baking sheet(s) with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine diced ham, grated Gruyère, Dijon mustard, chives, and black pepper. Mix well.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, gently roll out one sheet of puff pastry into a 12x12 inch square (approximately).
  4. Spread half of the ham and cheese mixture evenly over the puff pastry.
  5. Fold the puff pastry in half, pressing lightly to seal.
  6. Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut the folded pastry into strips approximately ½ inch wide.
  7. Twist each strip several times to create a spiral. Place on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining pastry and filling.
  8. Brush each twister with the beaten egg.
  9. Sprinkle with Everything Bagel Seasoning or flaky sea salt (if using). Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly on the baking sheet before serving.
