Ingredients:
- 4 oz (115g) Black Forest Ham, finely diced
- 4 oz (115g) Gruyère cheese, finely grated
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh chives
- 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 1 package (14.1 oz/400g) frozen puff pastry, thawed (but still cold)
- 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Optional: Everything Bagel Seasoning or flaky sea salt, for sprinkling
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line baking sheet(s) with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine diced ham, grated Gruyère, Dijon mustard, chives, and black pepper. Mix well.
- On a lightly floured surface, gently roll out one sheet of puff pastry into a 12x12 inch square (approximately).
- Spread half of the ham and cheese mixture evenly over the puff pastry.
- Fold the puff pastry in half, pressing lightly to seal.
- Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut the folded pastry into strips approximately ½ inch wide.
- Twist each strip several times to create a spiral. Place on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining pastry and filling.
- Brush each twister with the beaten egg.
- Sprinkle with Everything Bagel Seasoning or flaky sea salt (if using). Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly on the baking sheet before serving.
