Ingredients:
- 2 lbs fresh green beans, trimmed and halved
- 2 tbsp kosher salt
- 4 cups ice cubes
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk, room temperature
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/4 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
- 6 oz French fried onions
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
- Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil and add the kosher salt.
- Submerge the green beans in the boiling water for 7 minutes until bright green and crisp-tender.
- Immediately transfer the beans to a large bowl filled with ice water to stop the cooking process. Once cold, drain and pat completely dry.
- In a 12-inch heavy-bottomed skillet or saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
