Ingredients:

  • 3 cups seedless grapes (about 500g), a mix of colors is nice!
  • 1 pound (450g) block of Cheddar cheese, cut into ¾-inch (2cm) cubes
  • 1 pound (450g) block of Monterey Jack cheese, cut into ¾-inch (2cm) cubes
  • ½ cup fresh basil leaves, small (optional)
  • ½ cup salami, cut into ¾-inch cubes (optional)
  • 24 wooden skewers (6-inch/15cm)

Instructions:

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the grapes. Cut the cheeses into uniform cubes. If using basil, wash and dry the leaves. If using salami, slice the salami block into cubes.
  2. Thread a grape onto a skewer. Follow with a cheese cube (cheddar or Monterey Jack). Add salami, and finish with another grape or a basil leaf. Repeat the pattern on each skewer.
  3. Arrange the skewers on a serving platter. Serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate for later.
