Ingredients:

  • 2 cans (14.5 ounces/411g each) cut green beans, drained (or 1.5 pounds/680g fresh green beans, trimmed and blanched)
  • 1 can (10.75 ounces/305g) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup (120ml) milk (whole or 2%)
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) soy sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon (1.25ml) ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5ml) garlic powder
  • 1 ¼ cups (approx. 115g) French's® Crispy Fried Onions, divided

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. If using canned green beans, drain thoroughly. If using fresh, blanch them in boiling water for 3 minutes, then drain and shock in ice water.
  3. In the large mixing bowl, combine the green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, pepper, and garlic powder. Stir well to combine.
  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. Sprinkle about ¾ cup (approx. 70g) of the French's® Crispy Fried Onions evenly over the casserole.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and heated through.
  7. Remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle the remaining ½ cup (approx. 45g) of French's® Crispy Fried Onions over the top.
  8. Return the casserole to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown and crispy.
  9. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
