Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (125g) All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup (240ml) Water
  • 1/2 cup (113g) Unsalted Butter, cut into cubes
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 3 Large Eggs
  • 1/2 cup (100g) Granulated Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Ground Cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons Melted Butter, for brushing (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, butter, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until butter is melted.
  2. Remove from heat and add the flour all at once. Stir vigorously until a smooth dough forms and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
  3. Let the dough cool slightly (about 5 minutes). Add vanilla extract. Then, add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.
  4. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip (or use a Ziploc bag with the corner snipped). Pipe small mounds (about 1-inch in diameter) onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. While the churro bites are baking, combine the sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl. If using melted butter, place in separate bowl.
  7. Brush baked bites with melted butter then roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture immediately after baking. Serve warm and enjoy!
