Ingredients:
- 20 fl oz Dr Pepper (Regular)
- 1.5 cups Tomato Ketchup
- 0.5 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 0.25 cup Dark Brown Sugar, packed
- 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 0.5 tsp Ground Black Pepper
- 0.25 tsp Cayenne Pepper
Instructions:
- Place a medium heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium-high heat and add the 20 oz of Dr Pepper. Bring to a boil and cook until the liquid has reduced by half (approximately 10–12 minutes) until it reaches a thin, dark syrup consistency.
- Whisk in the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and dark brown sugar. Once incorporated, add the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne. Stir until the spices are fully integrated and no clumps remain.
- Reduce heat to low. Let the sauce simmer gently for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent scorching. The sauce is ready when it reaches a nappe consistency, coating the back of a spoon.
- Remove from heat and let the sauce sit for 10 minutes. Whisk one final time to ensure a glossy, emulsified finish before transferring to a glass jar.
