Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup (45g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup (85g) semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until well combined. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips or chunks.
  6. Use a cookie scoop (or a spoon) to drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each cookie.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are slightly soft.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
