  1. Prepare the Balsamic Glaze: Combine balsamic vinegar and honey in a small saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat and let it gently bubble for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the volume is reduced by half and coats the back of a spoon lightly. Remove and allow to cool completely.
  2. Prep the Vegetables and Cheese: Wash and thoroughly pat the cucumbers dry. Slice each cucumber into rounds approximately 1/3 inch (about 8mm) thick. Drain the mozzarella balls thoroughly.
  3. Assemble the Caprese Units: On skewers or a platter, layer the ingredients: Cucumber slice, small basil leaf folded in half, one small mozzarella ball, followed by another cucumber slice.
  4. Dress and Season: Arrange the assembled skewers artfully on a serving platter. Drizzle generously with good quality olive oil. Sprinkle evenly with flaky sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  5. Final Drizzle and Serve: Just before serving, drizzle the cooled balsamic glaze over the entire dish. Serve immediately for maximum crispness.
