Ingredients:

  • 8 oz (225g) Philadelphia Cream Cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 8 oz (225g) Full-fat sour cream
  • 1 packet (1 oz / 28g) Taco seasoning
  • 1 tsp (5ml) Fresh lime juice
  • 8 oz (225g) Lean ground beef (90/10)
  • ½ tsp (2.5g) Salt
  • ¼ tsp (1.25g) Black pepper
  • 1 cup (115g) Sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup (75g) Roma tomatoes, finely diced
  • ¼ cup (35g) Red onion, finely minced
  • 2 tbsp (15g) Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 tbsp (30g) Sliced black olives

Instructions:

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat until no pink remains. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Transfer the beef to a fine-mesh strainer and pat dry with paper towels to remove excess grease.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and sour cream using a silicone spatula or hand mixer until the texture is velvety and smooth.
  4. Fold in the taco seasoning and lime juice, stirring until the color is uniform.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch shallow serving dish, smoothing the top.
  6. Spread the cooked, drained beef in an even layer over the cream base.
  7. Top the beef layer with shredded cheddar cheese.
  8. Scatter the diced tomatoes, red onion, olives, and chopped cilantro over the cheese, pressing down lightly to adhere.
