Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (45g) Rolled Oats (Old-Fashioned Oats)
- 1/2 cup (120ml) Milk of your choice (Dairy, Almond, Soy, Oat, or Cashew)
- 1/4 cup (60g) Plain Greek Yogurt
- 1 medium Ripe Banana (mashed)
- 1 tablespoon (8g) Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1 tablespoon (7g) Chia Seeds
- 1-2 teaspoons (5-10ml) Maple Syrup or Honey (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) Vanilla Extract
- 1 pinch of Salt
- 2 tablespoons (20g) Dark Chocolate Chunks (optional, for topping)
Instructions:
- In a bowl or mason jar, thoroughly mash the ripe banana with a fork until smooth. This is your foundation for flavour.
- Add the milk, Greek yogurt, vanilla extract, and maple syrup/honey (if using) to the mashed banana. Whisk or stir vigorously until well combined. No lumpy bits allowed!
- Incorporate the rolled oats, cocoa powder, chia seeds, and salt into the wet mixture.
- Stir until all ingredients are fully combined, ensuring no dry pockets remain. The mixture should have a chocolatey, batter-like consistency.
- Cover the bowl or seal the mason jar and refrigerate for at least 8 hours, or preferably overnight. This allows the oats and chia seeds to absorb the liquid and create a creamy texture.
- The next morning, remove the oats from the refrigerator. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash of milk to reach your desired consistency.
- Top with dark chocolate chunks (optional) and any other desired garnishes. Dig in and enjoy your no-fuss breakfast!
