Instructions:
- Prepare the Balsamic Glaze: Combine balsamic vinegar and optional brown sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the liquid reduces and coats the back of a spoon. Remove from heat and allow to cool; it will thicken.
- Prepare the Components: Gently pat the bocconcini dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Wash and thoroughly dry the basil leaves. Inspect tomatoes and remove any stems.
- Assemble the Skewers: Thread the ingredients onto 6-inch/15cm wooden or bamboo skewers in this consistent order: Tomato, folded Basil leaf, Mozzarella ball. Repeat the sequence if the skewer allows, finishing with a Tomato.
- Season and Arrange: Arrange the finished Caprese Salad Skewers artfully on a serving platter. Lightly drizzle the prepared balsamic glaze over the skewers immediately before serving. Finish with a delicate sprinkle of flaky sea salt and a grind of black pepper.
