Ingredients:

  • 500g Air-Dry Clay
  • Acrylic paint (variety of colors)
  • Water based varnish or sealer
  • Acrylic paint pens (various colors, fine tip)
  • Stamps (optional)
  • String, twine, or jute (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cover your work surface with parchment paper.
  2. Knead the air-dry clay until soft and pliable.
  3. Roll out the clay to approximately ¼ inch (0.6 cm) thickness.
  4. Use cookie cutters to create shapes or freehand cut with a knife or tool.
  5. Press stamps into the clay or add texture with tools (optional).
  6. Write plant names onto the markers using a sharp tool or acrylic paint pens.
  7. Create a hole at the top of the marker for hanging (optional).
  8. Place the markers on a baking sheet and allow them to air dry completely for 24-72 hours, turning them over periodically.
  9. Once dry, gently sand any rough edges with fine-grit sandpaper (optional).
  10. Paint the markers with acrylic paint and let them dry completely.
  11. Apply a coat of waterproof sealer to protect the markers from the elements. Let dry completely.
  12. Place the air dry clay garden markers in your garden to label your plants!
