Ingredients:

  • 4 pieces (approx. 6 oz / 170g each) store-bought garlic or plain naan
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) marinara sauce
  • 8 oz (225g) fresh mozzarella
  • 1/4 cup (15g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 12-16 leaves (5g) fresh basil
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) balsamic glaze
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) dried oregano
  • 1 pinch sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place naan breads on the sheet and brush the tops lightly with olive oil.
  3. Bake the plain, oiled naan for 2 minutes before adding toppings to ensure a sturdy, restaurant-style crust.
  4. Spread 2 tbsp (30ml) of sauce onto each naan, leaving a 1/2 inch (1.3cm) border around the edges to create a crust.
  5. Distribute the torn fresh mozzarella evenly across the sauce.
  6. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan and dried oregano.
  7. Bake for 7-10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges of the naan are mahogany-colored.
  8. Remove from the oven and immediately top with fresh basil leaves.
  9. Finish with a drizzle of balsamic glaze and a pinch of sea salt.
